Mat Franco Honored with Key to the City at Las Vegas Fundraiser

Las Vegas magic took center stage in a different way this weekend, as Mat Franco was awarded the Key to the City during a special appearance at a major local fundraiser.

The honor was presented by Shelley Berkley at The Animal Foundation’s 23rd annual “Best in Show” event, held at the Thomas & Mack Center. The event, which raises funds for animal welfare programs, brought together supporters from across the Las Vegas Valley.

Franco and Mayor Berkley both served as celebrity judges during the fundraiser, but the real surprise came when Berkley paused the program to recognize Franco’s contributions to the community. In addition to the Key to the City, she officially declared April 26, 2026 as “Mat Franco Day” in Las Vegas.

A Decade of Magic on the Strip

Franco is currently celebrating 10 years of his hit residency, Mat Franco – Magic Reinvented Nightly at The LINQ Hotel + Experience. Since opening in 2015, the show has built a reputation for its unique blend of interactive magic, humor, and storytelling—helping redefine what a modern Vegas magic show can be.

In a statement following the event, Franco shared his appreciation:

“I’m incredibly grateful and honestly a bit speechless. Las Vegas has been my home for the past 10 years, and to be recognized in this way—especially at an event supporting such an important cause—means the world to me.”

More Magic to Come

The recognition comes on the heels of Franco signing a new five-year extension with Caesars Entertainment, ensuring his show will remain at The LINQ through at least 2030.

Magic Meets Community Impact

While Franco is best known for his groundbreaking win on America’s Got Talent and his long-running residency, this honor highlights another side of his career—his commitment to giving back.

The “Best in Show” fundraiser once again proved that magic in Las Vegas isn’t just about what happens on stage—it’s also about the impact performers have off of it.
