Wes Iseli's Magiclife Podcast S7E12 (Lance Burton)

Legendary magician Lance Burton joins us on Wes Iseli’s MagicLife Podcast for a conversation about Las Vegas, television magic, and a lifetime devoted to entertaining audiences.

Lance shares stories about his early influences and mentor Harry Collins, his appearance on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show, and winning the FISM Grand Prix. We discuss the differences between creating television specials and performing live in Las Vegas, how the performance setting shapes an illusion, and the imagination behind memorable effects—including his flying car illusion. We also explore Lance’s commitment to mentoring young magicians, why connecting with an audience matters, and how he handles those unpredictable moments when a performance doesn’t go as planned. Along the way, he offers insight into staying inspired and keeping performances fresh throughout a long career. Whether you’re an aspiring magician or a longtime Lance Burton fan, this episode offers a chance to hear the stories, creative thinking, and practical lessons behind an extraordinary career in magic. wesiseli.com Patreon.com/wes_iseli
