Yankee Gathering 2026 Brings Magic Collectors and History Enthusiasts to Nashua

For magic collectors, an old poster or well-used prop can be the beginning of a remarkable story. This November, the 2026 Yankee Gathering will bring that interest in magic’s past to Nashua, New Hampshire.

Organized by the New England Magic Collectors Association, the gathering takes place November 5–7, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Nashua. The venue is new for this year’s event.

Stephen Minch Named Guest of Honor

The gathering’s 2026 Guest of Honor is Stephen Minch, the magic author, founder of Hermetic Press, and editor of Gibecière. NEMCA announced the honor in its official invitation.

Recognizing a writer and editor highlights the importance of magic publishing. Books and journals preserve techniques, document careers, and give future researchers evidence that might otherwise disappear.

A Gathering With History of Its Own

The first Yankee Gathering took place in 1986 at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, Massachusetts. That makes 2026 forty years since the event began.

NEMCA’s broader mission includes preserving magic history, encouraging scholarship, and sharing knowledge about collectible books, memorabilia, and apparatus.

For someone beginning a collection, that shared knowledge can be particularly valuable. Learning an object’s maker, provenance, or place in a performer’s career can reveal far more than its appearance alone.

Dealer Space Is Sold Out

Organizers report that dealer space is sold out. Their description of the dealers’ room emphasizes out-of-print publications, antique apparatus, discontinued effects, posters, and other material with historical or collectible interest. The dealer announcement does not establish whether attendee registration remains available.

The published arrival information lists registration opening at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 5, followed by the dealers’ room at 1 p.m. and the first event at 3 p.m., all local time.

Visit NEMCA’s official website for registration links and current event information.
